CASE INVITATIONAL...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 8, 2006) - The Case Western Reserve University men’s track and field team, fresh off a victory at the College of Wooster last Saturday, opened up their brand new facility at the Village at 115 this Saturday by winning the the Case Invitational with 188 points.
Case sophomore Tyler Youngquist (Midland, MI) won the 1,500 meter run (4:18.64), freshman Nicholas Farkas (Berea, OH) won the 10,000 meter run (38:39.59), and senior Jason Dudas (Solon, OH) won the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:18.64). Spartan senior Christoffer Molnar (Cincinnati, OH) also won the 800 meter run (2:00.94) and the Spartans took home the number one and two spot in the 5,000 meter run. Junior Aaron Johnston-Peck (Lakewood, OH) - pictured won the race (15:34.36) and Josh Ward second (16:58.02).
In the field events, the Spartans took home the top three spots in the hammer throw. Junior Alex Drollinger (Lodi, OH) had the top throw (47.91m), junior Paul Hannen (Seville, OH) finished second (37.28m) and sophomore David Jeffries (Nordonia, OH) placed third (37.21m). Jeffries also won the shot put with a throw of 13.91 meters. Freshman Derrick Moore (Cleveland, OH) won the high jump (1.77m) and sophomore Tim Paul (Mount Morris, NY) won the triple jump (11.66m). Relay wise the Case men posted the top time (3:34.96) in the 4x400 meter relay.
The Spartans travel to the All-Ohio Championships next Saturday hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
