MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK COACH
Steve Rubin

Steve Rubin was named Case Western Reserve’s head men's and women's track and field coach August 27, 2007.
Rubin knows the University Athletic Association (UAA) well as he headed Washington University’s (Mo.) track and field teams from 2001 to 2003. The five-time head of the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year helped lead the Bears’ women’s squad to their first-ever UAA triple crown [2002-2003], winning championships in cross country and both indoor and outdoor track & field. The Washington women’s team won consecutive indoor and outdoor UAA championships [four total] under Rubin and the men won the UAA outdoor championship in 2003.
Rubin formerly was head coach for Florida International University’s (Miami, FL) men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams for the past four years [2003-2007]. During the 2005 outdoor season, Rubin helped guide seven athletes to the NCAA Division 1 championships and one to a national title [school’s first ever]. He also helped lead 40 student-athletes to All-Sun Belt Conference performances that same year.
Prior to coaching at Washington University, Rubin spent nine seasons as an assistant at the University of Miami (FL). Working at Miami from 1992 to 2001, he helped the program earn three Big East championships. During his tenure, the Miami staff was named Big East Coaching Staff of the year three times.
Rubin not only has coaching experience within the UAA, but competition experience as well. He graduated from Emory University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political science. He won back-to-back [1990 & 1991] UAA titles in the triple jump for the Eagles.
