CLEVELAND, OH (April 9, 2008) – Freshman catcher Chad Mullins (Fredericksburg, OH – pictured) hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth and finished 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI, as the Case Western Reserve University baseball team claimed a 15-14 victory over Hiram College in game two of this afternoon's doubleheader at Hiram. Mullins' homerun is his second of the season.
The Spartans (7-17-1) will head to Greensville, Penn. on Apr. 12 for a doubleheader against Thiel College. Game one is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
Freshman right fielder Phil Keefe (Newtonville, MA) continued to hit the ball well in game two, as he finished 4-for-4 with one run and two RBI.
Freshman infielder Steve Crilley (Glenshaw, PA) and junior infielder Ben Faber (Fostoria, OH) each finished with three RBI for the Spartans, while freshman outfielder Zach Hall (Germantown, MD) had three hits.
Sophomore pitcher Chip Dean (Lexington, VA) picked up the victory for the Spartans.
