MOUNT UNION 19, CASE 3...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 6, 2008) – In game one of this afternoon's doubleheader at Nobby's Ballpark, the Case Western Reserve University baseball team fell 19-3 to the Purple Raiders of Mount Union College. The two teams will play one more game this afternoon.
Down 3-0 in the bottom of the third, the Spartans made it a two-run game, as an RBI single by sophomore outfielder Phil Keefe (Newtonville, MA) made it a 3-1 game.
But the Purple Raiders would answer back big, as a 12-run inning in the top of the fourth, including a grand slam by Grant Sevek, gave Mount Union a 15-1 lead.
Freshman outfielder Zach Hall (Germantown, MD – pictured) went 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI, while senior infielder Kevin Haley (Kent, OH) finished 2-for-2 at the plate as well.
