CLEVELAND, OH (April 29, 2007) –
Senior first baseman John Thuermer (Dublin, OH) and senior second baseman Kevin Sudnik (Brookpark, OH-pictured) each drove in a run as the Case Western Reserve University baseball team lost to Washington University by a score of 15-2.
Spartan batters collected four hits in game, led by Thuermer’s RBI double in the second and Sudnik’s RBI single in the third. Sophomore catcher Kevin Carney (University Hts., OH) and freshman designated hitter Chip Dean (Lexington, VA) also singled.
Sophomore pitcher Chris Lambert (Canal Fulton, OH) was the starter and took the loss (0-1), giving up fifteen runs (fourteen earned) on fifteen hits and six walks, striking out three in five and a third innings of work. Freshman Chris Zagore (Traverse City, MI) pitched two-thirds of an inning of scoreless relief.
