CLEVELAND, OH (April 24, 2007) –
The Case Western Reserve University baseball team only managed five hits in a 6-0 loss to Notre Dame College in the second game of a doubleheader in Euclid, Ohio.
Two batters reached base twice for the Spartans: senior center fielder David Adams (Middlefield, OH-pictured) who went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base, and senior first baseman J.R. Doolos (Clayton, OH) who went 1-for-2 with a walk. Collecting the other three hits for Case were senior second baseman Kevin Sudnik (Brookpark, OH), sophomore outfielder Kevin Carney (University Hts., OH), and junior pitcher Kevin Haley (Kent, OH), who each went 1-for-3.
Haley was the starting pitcher and loser (2-4), giving up six earned runs on ten hits and two walks, striking out two in four innings of work. Freshman Chris Zagore (Traverse City, MI) pitched two perfect innings in relief with one strikeout.
The Spartans (11-15) will next host John Carroll University on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
