CASE BASEBALL—2006

Westminster jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning with Case bouncing back to put two runs on the board in the home-half of the second inning. The Titans then scored three runs in the third with the Spartans again answering right back with three of their own in the bottom of the third. Case could never take the lead however as Westminster added runs in the fourth and fifth innings to build an 8-5 advantage. Two late runs in the sixth and seventh inning weren't enough as Westminster hung on for the one-run victory.

Case senior Chris Sisson (West Palm Beach, FL) - pictured led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a triple as the Spartans trailed 8-6. Faber then singled to score Sisson and draw the Spartans within a run. Dan McNally (Pittsburgh, PA) then ran for Faber and advanced to third base with two down before Joe McCrackin (Tallmadge, OH) lined out to centerfield to end the game.

Marshall Hampton (St. Petersburg, FL), Max Briggs (Cleveland Heights, OH), Tim Koenig (Euclid, OH), and Sisson each finished with two hits for Case in the game while Dan Conti (Pittsburgh, PA) led the Titan charge with two hits and three RBI in the contest.

The Spartans return to action Saturday at Nobby's Ballpark as they host Thomas More College in a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.
