LA ROCHE 3, CASE 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 17, 2006) – Case Western Reserve University junior designated hitter Marshall Hampton (St. Petersburg, FL) - pictured went 1-for-2 with a double as the Spartans fell to La Roche College, 3-1 in the second game of a doubleheader.
Case mustered just two hits on the game. Senior centerfielder Max Briggs (Cleveland Heights, OH) added Case's other hit with a single in the fourth inning. Their only run came when freshman shortstop Ben Faber (Fostoria, OH) reached on an error, stole second, reached third by an error and scored on a run down.
Junior David Adams (Middlefield, OH) took the loss for the Spartans despite a strong outing. Adams gave up just two runs (one earned) in five innings of work. He surrendered just three hits, but was guilty of four walks.
Case will face Hiram College on Wednesday at Jacobs Field with a 12:30 start.
