CASE 4, OBERLIN 3...
OBERLIN, OH (April 13, 2006) – The Case Western Reserve University baseball team, after an hour rain delay last night, hung on to defeat Oberlin College 4-3 in a non-conference road game.
The Spartans improved to 7-12-1 on the season an host Baldwin Wallace College today in a nine inning game at Nobby's Ballpark (3:30 p.m.).
Case senior center fielder Max Briggs (Cleveland Hts., OH) - pictured knocked in two of the Spartans four runs, going 1-for-3 from the plate with a runs scored and 2 RBIs. Sophomore third baseman Kevin Haley (Kent, OH) went 2-for-4 on the day with a run scored.
Picking up the win on the mound for Case was junior pitcher J.R. Doolos (Clayton, OH). Doolos pitched a complete game allowing eight hits while striking out three.
