CASE 4, PENN STATE BEHREND 4...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 10, 2006) – Case Western Reserve senior outfielder Chris Sisson - pictured (West Palm Beach, FL) went 1-for-3 with a triple, run scored, stolen base and RBI as Case tied PSU-Behrend, 4-4 in a game that was called after ten innings due to darkness. Freshman Jonathan Fagert (Delmont, PA) went 1-for-2 with an RBI off the bench for the Spartans.
The Spartans led 3-2, with two outs in the top half of the seventh inning when the Lions scored a game tying run. PSU Behrend was poised to win the game with a run in top of the ninth inning, but a throwing error on a double play attempt scored the tying run for Case in the bottom half of the inning. The Spartans moved to 6-12-1 on the year with the tie while the Lions are 12-6-1 overall.
Senior Rich Mullen (Columbus, OH) pitched eight innings for the Spartans. Mullen gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out four. Freshman Josh Sellke (Parma, OH) pitched two innings in relief for the Spartans. He gave up one run on three hits.
Case travels to Oberlin College on Wednesday with a 3:30 start.
