CLEVELAND, OH (April 8, 2006) – Case pitchers Jamal Muhmud (Flemington, NJ) - pictured and Josh Sellke (Parma, OH) combined for a shutout as Case swept Hiram College in the second game of a double-header by a final score of 4-0. Mahmud pitched five innings, giving up just four hits while striking out three batters. In two innings of work, Sellke gave up just one hit and struck out one batter.
Leading the Spartan offense was junior catcher Marshall Hampton (St. Peterburg, FL). Hampton went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Freshman first baseman Zak Hourmouzis (Middleberg Heights, OH) added an RBI double for the Spartans.
Case's double-header scheduled for tomorrow against PSU-Behrend is postponed.
