THIEL 20, CASE 12...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 2, 2006) – Case Western Reserve University junior catcher Marshall Hampton (St. Petersburg, FL) - pictured went 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI as the Spartans fell to Thiel College by a final score of 12-20. The Spartans committed five errors and walked eight batters while surrendering nine unearned runs. Sophomore second baseman Kevin Sudick (Brookpark, OH) went 1-for-3 with three runs scored and a RBI.
Kevin Carney (University Heights, OH) took the loss for the Case. Carney gave up nine runs (six earned) on five hits and six walks. Senior outfielder Chris Sisson (West Palm Beach, FL) went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Freshman shortstop Ben Faber (Fostoria, OH) went 1-for-1 with two runs scored as a reserve for the Spartans.
