WASHINGTON 15, CASE 5...
SANFORD, FL (March 15, 2006) – Case senior outfielder Max Briggs (Cleveland Heights, OH) - pictured went 3-4 with a double and two RBIs as the Spartans fell to Washington University 15-5 in their fourth game of the University Athletic Association Championships.
The loss drops Case to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the UAA. Washington improves to 13-1 and 2-0. The Spartans face Emory University tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
Senior Chris Sisson (West Palm Beach, FL) added two hits, including a double, while scoring two of Case's five runs. Sophomore Jamal Malmud (Flemington, NJ) added a clutch RBI single with two outs in the fourth inning to cut the Washington lead to 7-5, but a six run eighth inning ended any Spartan comeback hopes.
Junior David Adams (Middlefield, OH) took the loss for the Spartans, who used four pitchers.
