EMORY 11, CASE 0...
SANFORD, FL (March 14, 2006) – Case Western Reserve University senior Dan McNally (Pittsburgh, PA) - pictured went 2-2 with a walk as the Spartans lost their University Athletic Association opener 0-11 to Emory University in Sanford, FL.
Senior Tim Koenig (Euclid, OH) added a single and a walk for the Spartans, who had only six hits for the game. Case was guilty of three errors while Emory’s work on the field was unblemished. The Eagles scored their 11 runs on 13 hits.
Case junior pitcher J.R. Doolos (Clayton, OH) took the loss in his first outing of the season as Case dropped to 1-2 overall (0-1 UAA). Doolos pitched five innings while giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits. The Spartans continue UAA play tomorrow as they battle Brandeis University (10:00 a.m.) and Washington University (1:30 p.m.) in a doubleheader.
