OBERLIN 7, CASE 3 ...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 20, 2005) – Case Western Reserve University senior first baseman Scott Greer (Gates Mills, OH) went 1 for 2 from the plate with a run scored and two walks as the Spartans fell to Oberlin College today 7-3 in a home game played at Jacobs Field (home of Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians).
Oberlin jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by scoring one run in the first and two in the second. The Spartans tied things at three apiece in the fourth, but allowed the Yeomen to score one run in the sixth and three in the eighth to drop their 11 th straight.
Case junior centerfielder Max Briggs (Cleveland Hts., OH) went 1 for 3, including a double and run scored on the afternoon. Spartan sophomore pitcher J.R. Doolos ( Clayton , OH ) picked up the loss. Doolos threw eight innings giving up 9 hits and 6 runs while striking out 4.
Case travels across town to John Carroll University Saturday and will host Wabash in a double header beginning at 1:00 p.m.
