PSU BEHREND 4, CASE 3 ...
ERIE, PA (April 10, 2005) – Case Western Reserve University senior first baseman Scott Greer (Gates Mills, OH) went two for three from the plate including a run scored and a run batted in as the Spartans dropped their sixth straight, losing game two of a double header to Penn State Behrend 4-3. Greer, who went two for three in game one, ended the day 4 for six from the plate.
PSU Behrend jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a three run second, but the Spartans battled back to ties the game a three apiece after a one run fourth and two run fifth. Behrend, who improves to 11-10 on the year, won the game in the bottom of the eighth.
Case freshman Chad Skidmore (Centerville, OH) pitched a great game, going the distance (7.2 innings). Skidmore, who is 1-3 this year, allowed just seven hits, walked only two batters and struck out two.
The Spartans, 6-18 on the year, are schedule to face Westminster College this Wednesday in a double header beginning at 2:00 p.m.
