PSU BEHREND 5, CASE 2 ...
ERIE, PA (April 10, 2005) – Case Western Reserve University junior center fielder Max Briggs (Cleveland Hts., OH) went three for four from the plate as the Spartans dropped game one of a double header to Penn State Behrend 5-2. The Spartans scored their runs in the first and third, but Behrend scored runs in four innings, including two in the first to top case.
Spartan sophomore John Thuermer (Dublin, OH) pitched all six innings for Case, allowing eight hits while striking out two. Thuermer drops to 1-4 on the season as the Spartans fall to 6-17.
Case senior first baseman Scott Greer (Gates Mills, OH) went two for three in game one.
