HIRAM 3, CASE 1...
HIRAM, OH (April 9, 2005) – Case Western Reserve University sophomore pitcher J.R. Doolos (Clayton, OH) allowed just five hits and one earned run (two unearned) in six innings of work as the Spartans fell 3-1 to Hiram College.
Hiram got two runs in the first and one in the second and that was all that they needed as the Spartans committed three errors in the loss. Case got their only run of the game in the sixth inning as Scott Greer (Pepper Pike, OH) reached base on a fielder's choice. Greer then stole second base and a Josh Knipp (Defiance, OH) RBI single scored him from second.
Hiram pitcher Jeff Natase struck out seven Case batters while allowing just five hits. Doolos stuck out four Hiram batters of his own and yielded just one walk in the contest.
