PITT-GREENSBURG 9 , CASE 1 ...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 1, 2005) – Case Western Reserve University junior left fielder Josh Knipp (Defiance, OH) went two for three from the plate today as the Spartans fell 9-1 to the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg in game two of a double header.
Case's lone run came in the first while Greensburg, who out hit the Spartans nine to five, spread it out scoring three in the first, one in third, two in the fourth and their final run seventh. Case committed seven errors as they drop to 6-13 on the year.
Spartan senior pitcher Ryan Sporer (Venus, PA) received the loss as he went the distance allowing nine hits and striking out three. Case is schedule to travel to PSU Behrend Sunday for a double header.
