CASE 4, LAROCHE 2...
PITTSBURGH, PA (March 29, 2005) – Case Western Reserve University junior left fielder Josh Knipp (Defiance, OH) went two-for-three from the plate to help the Spartans snap a three game losing streak with a 4-2 win at LaRoche College in game one of a double header. With the win the Spartans improved to 5-10 on the season.
Knipp also knocked in one run via a single in the second as the Spartans Scored two. Case's other two runs came in the sixth. Senior first baseman Scott Greer (Gates Mills, OH) knocked in one run in the sixth with the game's only double.
Spartan sophomore pitcher J.R. Doolos (Clayton, OH) improved his record to 2-2 by throwing a complete game to pick up the win. Doolos allowed nine hits, struck out four and walked two.
