WASHINGTON 11, CASE 5...
COCOA BEACH , FL (March 9, 2005) – The Case Western Reserve University baseball team last their last non conference game to be played down south this afternoon 11-5 to Washington College.
The Spartans will now take part in the 2005 University Athletic Association Championship Tournament in Sanford , FL March 11-15.
Case sophomore third baseman Jonathan Maruri ( Tallmadge , OH ) led the Spartans from the plate today going one for three with a run scored and three batted in. Case senior pitcher Ryan Sporer ( Venus , PA ) picked up the loss. Sporer threw 6.2 innings allowing 11 hits and 11 runs.
The Spartans scored three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth respectively. Washington had a eight run seventh.
