BASEBALL COACH

Matt Englander was named Case Western Reserve University Head Baseball Coach on July 6, 2006.

Englander previously served as an assistant baseball coach at the College of Wooster under legendary head coach Tim Pettorini (24 years), from 2002 until 2006. At Wooster, was responsible for coaching pitchers and catchers, recruiting student-athletes, and running the team’s strength and conditioning program. Englander began his collegiate coaching career immediately after a successful playing career with the Fighting Scots.

The right handed pitcher (1999-2002) was a two-time All-American and won 32 games on the mound. He received Bachelor of Arts degree (2002) in Political Science and is currently working on a master’s degree. During his four year coaching career, the Fighting Scots have won three (2004, 2005, 2006) North Coast Athletic Conference Championships and made three NCAA postseason appearances (2004, 2005, 2006), including a 3rd place finish a year ago.
