SPARTAN WOMEN'S TENNIS—2009
CASE 9, MALONE 0....
CLEVELAND, OH (October 7, 2009) -
The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team, fresh off a 2009 Wilson/ITA Central Regional Championship appearance, improved to 4-0 on the season with a 9-0 win at home versus Malone College tonight. The Spartans will face University Athletic Association foe Carnegie Mellon University this Saturday at Oberlin College at 10:00 a.m.
Freshman No. 1 Samantha Lewis (Nashville, TN-pictured) had the longest match of the night as she outlasted Malone's Alanna Phillips 6-4 and 6-2. Case Western Reserve freshman Emily Pham (Mason, OH-pictured) made quick work of Malone's Lauren Armburst 6-1 and 6-0.
The Spartans then swept doubles.
