SPARTAN WOMEN'S TENNIS—2009
Case 9, mount union 0....
CLEVELAND, OH (September 18, 2009) -
Freshman Emily Pham (Mason, OH-pictured) shutout Mount Union College’s Tara Biedenbach 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 3 singles as the Case Western Reserve University women’s tennis team blanked Mount Union College 9-0 tonight in Alliance, Ohio.
The Spartans improve to 3-0 on the year and travel to Fredonia State University September 30 for a 5:00 p.m. match.
Freshman No. 1 Samantha Lewis (Knoxville, TN) also had a nice match, defeating the Purple Raiders Kacey Huff 6-1 and 6-0. Both Lewis and Pham remain undefeated (3-0) in both singles and doubles on the year. Pham also teamed-up with freshman No. 2 Erika Lim (Fullerton, CA) to beat Mount Union’s No. 1 doubles team 8-2. Lim is also 3-0 in singles and doubles this season.
