SPARTAN WOMEN'S TENNIS—2009

allegheny's heath invitational...

Allegheny Box -- Mercyhurst Box

CLEVELAND, OH (September 12, 2009) - The Case Western Reserve University women’s tennis team went undefeated at No. 1-3 singles and No. 1- 2 doubles this past weekend, finishing 2-0 and claiming the team championship at Allegheny College’s Heath Invitational.  The Spartans defeated both Allegheny and Mercyhurst College 5-4 .

Three freshman, No. 1 Samantha Lewis (Nashville, TN-pictured), No. 2 Erika Lim (Burlington, CA) and No. 3 Emily Pham (Mason, OH) all went 4-0, picking up their first collegiate wins.  Freshman Kathleen Evers (Cincinnat, OH) teamed-up with Lewis for two No. 2 doubles victories, also her first wins at the college level. 

Case Western Reserve lost No. 4-6 singles and No. 3 doubles in both matches.  The Spartans will travel to Mount Union College September 18 for a 3:30 p.m. match.
