SPARTAN WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING—2008-09

CLEVELAND, OH (February 14, 2009) - The Case Western Reserve University women’s swimming and diving team finished in seventh place [out of eight team] at this past weekend’s University Athletic Association Championships held at the University of Chicago.

The highlights of the weekend included sophomore Roxanne Leyshon (Cambridge, OH-pictured) and the 200-yard freestyle relay team.
Leyshon, sophomore Marine Gu (Longwood, FL), freshman Stephanie Campbell (Highland Heights, OH) and freshman Jessica Nuhfer (Warren, PA) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:39.00, earning All-UAA accolades. The same team also placed seventh in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:40.57.
Individually, Leyshon also finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle (24.55), ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.05) and ninth in the 100-yard freestyle (53.74).
