CLEVELAND, OH (November 15, 2008) - The Case Western Reserve University women’s swimming and diving team did well this weekend, splitting their meets to go 1-1 at the Veale Classic. The Spartans beat Oberlin on Friday 125-115, but would fall to Wooster today by a score of 132-105.

Sophomore Kelsey Zeller (Cincinnati, OH-pictured) claimed three individual titles, winning the 500-yard free style (5:23.33, 5:27.86) twice over the weekend, as well as the 100-yard breast stroke (1:12.72).

Sophomore Roxanne Leyshon (Cambridge, OH) continued her hot start to the season, placing first in the 200-yard free style (2:01.64) and 200-yard breast stroke (2:34.85). The Spartans would also place first in the 200-yard medley (1:56.60) with a team consisting of sophomores Ellen Crummy (Butler, PA), Jacquie Buckler (Brookfield, WI), and Nicole Lord (Akron, OH), and freshman Stephanie Campbell (Highland Heights, OH).

Case Western Reserve will be back at home next weekend when they host Kenyon, Grove City and Washington & Jefferson.
