Streak stopped at three, as Mt. St. Joseph Defeats Case, 2-1,

CLEVELAND, OH (September 18, 2009) - The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team fell to The College of Mount Saint Joseph, 2-1, at Case Field in Cleveland, Ohio.

With the loss, Case Western Reserve fell to 3-2-1 overall while MSJ improvedl to 4-2 overall;

The Spartans scored the lone goal of the first half when senior forward Kaitlyn Yule (Raleigh, NC ~pictured) put home a beautiful feed from junior forward Ana Arruda (Ann Arbor, MI) at the 9:39 mark. The Lions knotted the score at 1-1 in the 52nd minute via a Brittany Bowman goal. Mt. St. Joseph scored the winning goal at 78:46 when Jessica Pykosz found the back of the net from 35 yards out.

The Spartans won the battle of shots, 10-7, and corner kicks, 4-0.

In goal, sophomore Jackie Guttman (Eden Prairie, MN) made one saves.

Case Western Reserve is in action next when it faces Baldwin-Wallace College at Case Field, Tuesday, September 22, at 5:00 p.m. as part of a men’s and women’s doubleheader.
