SPARTAN MEN'S SOCCER—2009
Case Falls To Chicago, 3-0, in UAA PLAY
CLEVELAND, OH (October 18, 2009) - The Case Western Reserve University men’s soccer team fell to the University of Chicago, 3-0, in Chicago, IL.
The Spartans fall to 6-6-3 overall and 0-3-1 in UAA play, while Chicago moves to 9-2-2 overall and 3-1 in the UAA.
The Maroons got on the board first at the 13:46 mark when Andy Dallos converted a penalty kick. Chicago extended its lead to 2-0 late in the first half when Drew Marshall connected on a one-timer from 25 yards out at the 39:35 mark. Alex Cifford finished the scoring for the Maroons at 89:55.
The Maroons held a 19-11 advantage in shots and Case won the battle of corner kicks, 8-4.
In goal, sophomore Ben Yabrow (Marietta, GA) made seven saves.
The Spartans are in action next when they travel to PSU Behrend in non-conference action on Friday, October 23rd at 3:00 P.M.
