Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Cross Country Regionally Ranked ; football stays at No. 11
CLEVELAND, OH (October 13, 2009) - Case Western Reserve University has four ranked teams in the latest national and regional Division III polls.
The Case women's soccer team is regionally-ranked for the first time since at least 2003 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll
. The Spartans are tied for 10th with the College of Wooster in the DIII Great Lakes Region. Case Western Reserve is 2-0 in University Athletic Association play (7-3-2 overall) for the first time since 1993.
Men's cross country moved up a spot No. 7 in the DIII Great Lakes Region in U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll. Seventh is as high as the Spartans have been all season. The No. 15 nationally-ranked women's cross country team has been ranked second in the region behind Calvin College all season in the USTFCCA poll.
The undefeated (5-0) Case football team stayed put at No. 11 in the latest American Football Coaches Association Division III poll, after a 53-32 win over Cleveland area-rival The College of Wooster.
In other fall sports, the Case volleyball team is 17-3 overall and off to their best start in at least 20 years while the men's soccer team is 6-4-3 overall and was regionally-ranked during the season.
