Spartans take part in "flu prevention 101"

CLEVELAND, OH (September 30, 2009) - Case Western Reserve University, with the anticipation of increased influenza-like activity this fall and winter, is encouraging all students, faculty and staff to receive a seasonal flu vaccine.nice

Due to the fact student-athletes are more prone to germs because of extensive travel and the fact they come in contact with more people through competition, the Athletic Department is also advising its varsity teams and their members to get the flu vaccine.

A few Spartans recently took part in a publicity photo campaign for the cause.  Pictured to the right is senior women's basketball player Ashley Tondo.

The H1N1 vaccine is not yet available, but it is expected in early October.  Information regarding the H1N1 vaccine will be circulated to the campus community as it becomes available via federal government programs.
