SOFTBALL'S WOLZ EARNS SECOND UAA WEEKLY HONOR...

CLEVELAND, OH (March 31, 2009) - For the second consecutive week, Case Western Reserve University softball player Lauren Wolz (Ashburn, VA) has been named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week in her respective sport.  The announcement was made on the UAA website today.

The freshman right fielder hit .368 (7-for-19) at the plate with several big hits as the Spartans swept a double header against Westminster College. In game one, Wolz went 2-for-3 with a RBI to help Case Western Reserve to a 4-2 win. Later in game two, she hit a two-run homer in the sixth and a two-out bases loaded single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Spartans a 5-4 win.

Case Western Reserve plays a double header at Bethany College today beginning at 3:30 p.m.
