38 SPRING ATHLETES NAMED UAA ALL-ACADEMIC...
CLEVELAND, OH (May 1, 2008) - The University Athletic Association has announced its spring listing of student-athletes to be honored with All-Academic recognition. The spring academic honor roll includes 391 student-athletes representing teams participating in the four men's and three women's spring sports for which the UAA sponsors competition.
Case Western Reserve University had 38 student-athletes earn UAA all-academic honors this season, and they include:
Baseball: Kevin Carney (University Heights, OH) and Mike Robinson (Cleveland, OH)
Softball: Adriane Lewandowski (North Royalton, OH), Chelsae Poelking (Brecksville, OH), Angel Rice (Brunswick, OH), and Katie Svilar (Orange Village, OH).
Women's tennis: Kristin Ko (Cincinnati, OH) and Marta Worwag (Cleveland, OH).
Men's tennis: Neel Agarwal (Marlboro, NJ), Adam Erickson (Fort Wayne, IN), Zach Newman (Cincinnati, OH), Kenneth Nguyen (Midlothian, VA), Mike Peterson (Elm Grove, WI), John Smetona (Medina, OH), Joe Smetona (Medina, OH), and Allen Ye (Sycamore, IL).
Women's track and field: Leanne Austin (Louisville, OH), Athena Chen (Athens, OH), Allison Early (Medina, OH), Elizabeth Ehrke (Pewaukee, WI), Esther Erb (Richmond, VA), Sarah Gill (Sharpsville, PA), Colleen Heffernan (Columbus, OH), Gwen Higgins (Toledo, OH), Miranda Pruitt (Brecksville, OH), Jenna Yaney (Dayton, OH), and Joy Zhu (Chalfont, PA).
Men's track and field: Matt Aehle (Bethesda, MD), Adam Goodrich (Sunbury, OH), John Jensenius (Cumberland, ME), Matt Kamalsky (Shaker Heights, OH), Mike Petro (Cincinnati, OH), Obinna Nwanna (Maumee, OH), Austin Schmidt (Lexington, OH), Dominic Smith (New Richmond, OH), Michael Vaughn (Bethel Park, PA), Michael Werneiwski (Buffalo, NY), and Tyler Youngquist (Midland, MI).
