CLEVELAND, OH (March 24, 2008) - Four Case Western Reserve University softball players have been named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) team. The announcement was made on the UAA website Monday. All-UAA Team
Spartan freshman shortstop Beth Andrasik (Sagamore Hills, OH) was a first-team selection, while sophomore catcher/infielder Chelsae Poelking (Brecksville, OH) and sophomore infielder/outfielder Katie Svilar (Orange Village, OH) were second-team honorees. Freshman pitcher/outfielder Teddi Jacobson (Solon, OH) was named honorable mention.
Andrasik hit .350 at the UAA Championship March 11-15 in Altamonte Springs, Fla. with seven hits and three RBIs. Svilar hit .292, Poelking .231 and Jacobson tied for the UAA lead in homeruns with two.
Case Western Reserve (7-9) is schedule to play at Wittenberg University Saturday in doubleheader action beginning at 1:00 p.m.
