PETERSON AND ERB NAMED UAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK...
CLEVELAND, OH (February 19, 2008) - Case Western Reserve University sophomore men's tennis player Michael Peterson (Elm Grove, WI) and senior runner Esther Erb (Richmond, VA) were named University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week in their respective sports, as announced today by the UAA office.
Erb established a meet record in winning the mile run at the All-Ohio Division III Championships hosted by Otterbein College. Her time of 5:06.33 topped a field of 15 competitors and matched her UAA season-best time. She shared the honor with the University of Chicago's Claire Ray.
Peterson won in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) at third singles, then teamed with Allen Ye for an 8-6 triumph in second doubles in leading the Spartans to a 6-3 victory over Baldwin-Wallace College. He shared the honor with Washington University's Nirmal Choradia.
