CASE'S TOM BREW NAMED THIRD TEAM FOOTBALL ALL-AMERICAN...
CLEVELAND, OH (December 18, 2006) - Case Western Reserve University linebacker Tom Brew (Mentor, OH) has been named as a third-team Division III All-American by D3football.com. The announcement was made by the popular Division III web site.
Brew was named the University Athletic Association Co-Defensive Player of the Year this season as well as a first-team linebacker. He was a preseason All-America honoree, a semifinalist for the Draddy Trophy, a CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District second team selection and a Gagliardi Trophy finalist in 2006.
Brew led the UAA in total tackles per game (12.1), while finishing 10th in NCAA Division III (121 total tackles). His 2.2 tackles for loss (total of 21.5 for 63 yards) placed him second and eighth in the UAA and Division III, respectively. He was also a D3football.com first team All-North Region selection.
