SPARTANS HELP OUT DURING MOVE-IN DAY...
CLEVELAND, OH (August 24, 2006) - Move-in day might possibly be one of the most hectic days of an incoming freshman and his or her family’s life. That is why the Case Western Reserve University Athletic Department decided to lend a helping hand this week.
Members of the Case football, volleyball, cross country, women’s soccer, women’s basketball and swimming and diving teams carried boxes up stairs and hung clothes in closets, making things a little easier for University Circle’s newest arrivals.
“It is a nice way for us to help out and welcome freshmen to campus,” said Assistant Athletic Director and Head Women’s Soccer Coach Emily Donovan, who coordinated the Spartans’ efforts. “It also provides us a great opportunity to be more visible to our fellow students. I hope that they will return the favor by coming out and cheering for us this fall.”
Roughly, 150 student-athletes were waiting as cars pulled up on the north side this past Sunday and Wednesday. Case enrolled just under 1,100 freshmen this year.
