Case Western Reserve University

New Spartan Logo It is also important to note that campus athletic facilities, besides being used by varsity athletes, are utilized by all university students; 200 participating in club sports, 2,000 involved in intramural activities, and 3,000 fulfilling the physical education requirement for graduation. Additionally, the athletic facilities are continuously used by health conscious students, faculty and staff, and are the location of non-athletic campus and community events, including our nationally acclaimed summer program for underprivileged children and the Vice Presidential debate held on campus.

An enormous commitment to athletics is found in the North Campus Athletic Project (SEE DRAWING), dedicated in the fall of 2005. Part of the residential Village at 115, these facilities are state-of-the-art, enabling the university to attract the best students, and address their needs upon arrival. The new athletic complex takes Case Western Reserve athletics from facilities that left much to be desired, to resources that are the envy of other universities. The new complex provides a stadium for football and track, and a throwing area for field events, along with facilities for baseball and softballNew Spartan Logo.

The last piece of the North Campus athletic site that will make our dream facility complete is a new fieldhouse (SEE DRAWING), which will serve the sports played at the North Campus site. The fieldhouse will contain designated locker facilities for all teams, coach’s offices, meeting rooms, medical/training facilities, a weight training room and a Varsity Club for alumni. This facility is needed to serve the sports that will call North Campus home and is very important in enabling the university to stay competitive with peer institutions. This beautiful building, which will be looked upon as a jewel of University Circle and an asset of Northeast Ohio, can only be built if there is financial support from alumni and friends who care about the future of Spartan athletics and are willing to make an investment that will insure its success.
