WOMEN'S SOCCER — 2007


CLEVELAND, OH (October 12, 2007) - The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team (6-7) lost a 2-0 match to the No. 7 ranked Emory Eagles tonight at Case Field.

Emory went ahead early, as freshman Meghan McMahon scored with 37 minutes remaining to give her team the 1-0 advantage. Sophomore Shayna Bryan would add another goal before the end of the first half to put the Eagles up 2-0.

Junior goalkeeper Kirsten McClain (Rochester, NY) had another solid performance, as she saved two shots in 45 minutes of work in the loss.

The Spartans totaled five shots (four on goal) on the evening, three of which were shot by freshman Ana Arruda (Ann Arbor, MI – pictured). The Eagles totaled 10 shots (seven on goal) to stay undefeated on the season.

The Spartans will host Carnegie Mellon on Oct. 14 at 12:00 p.m. at Case Field.
