NORTH CANTON, OH (October 3, 2007) -
Walsh University (9-3-2) connected for three goals on nine shots, as the Cavaliers knocked off the Case Western Reserve University (6-5) women's soccer team tonight, 3-2, in North Canton.
Walsh's Chrissy Summers guided her team to an early lead, as she connected for a goal just 4:51 into the game to give the Cavs the 1-0 advantage.
However, the Spartans battled back, as freshman Ana Arruda (Ann Arbor, MI – pictured) scored her third goal of the season to bring the match to a 1-1 tie.
Yet, it wasn't enough, as Leya Spence and Abby Swope scored two more goals for Walsh to give her team their ninth win of the season, while giving the Spartans their fifth loss of the year.
Freshman Frances Hogan (Westerville, OH) also scored a goal in the match, her second of the season.
The team's next game will be Oct. 6 at 3:30 p.m. at Case Field, which is Homecoming at Case Western Reserve University.
