WOMEN'S SOCCER — 2007


CLEVELAND , OH (September 1, 2007) - The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team lost their first game of the season this afternoon to Saint Mary's College (IN), 2-1.

Saint Mary's struck first, when junior forward Lauren Hinton (Grand Rapids, MI) scored with 13 minutes remaining in the first half to give Saint Mary's the 1-0 lead.

The Spartans battled back late in the second half when sophomore Kaitlyn Yule (Green Oaks, IL - pictured) scored her second goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1.

However, the Belles from Saint Mary's answered back, when junior Whitney Fron (Sterling Heights, MI) scored to give her team the 2-1 lead and the first loss this season for the Case Western Reserve Spartans.

The Spartans totaled seven shots for the entire game, while holding Saint Mary's to only three.

The Spartans finished this weekend's tournament at Case Field with a 1-1 record. Next up for the team will be another non-conference match against John Carroll University on Wednesday.
