WOMEN'S SOCCER — 2007

CLEVELAND , OH (August 31, 2007) - The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team didn't disappoint in Tiffany Crooks' collegiate coaching debut, as the Spartans defeated Lawrence University, 2-0 at Case Field.

Freshman Amy Bishara (Toledo, OH) scored her first ever collegiate goal with about 24 minutes remaining in the first period to give the Spartans the early lead. And that would be all they needed.

The Spartan defense held Lawrence to only six shots the entire game, five of which were saved by junior goalkeeper, Nikki Frankenstein (Cincinnati, OH - pictured), who posted her first shutout of the season.

The Spartans continued their aggressive style of offensive in the second period, with Kaitlyn Yule (Green Oaks, IL) scoring late in the half to give Case Western Reserve their second goal of the game and their first victory of the season.

The tournament at Case Field will continue tomorrow afternoon when the team takes on Saint Mary's College (IN) at 1 p.m.
