WOMEN'S SOCCER — 2006

CLEVELAND, OH (October 3, 2006) - The Spartans lost a 1-0 nail-biter to Allegheny College tonight at home. Case did everything but put the ball in the goal. Junior forward Katie Duracky (Struthers, OH-pictured) had three shots on goal two of which hit the crossbar.

Both teams kept up a frantic pace all game long, taking a ton of shots on goal and forcing the goalkeepers to make numerous saves. Case goalkeeper Nikki Frankenstein (Cincinnati, OH) had seven saves and Allegheny goalkeeper Michelle Welker had six.

Alleghany midfielder Christy McShea finally broke the tie in the 62nd minute on a goal off a beautiful corner kick from Emily Spencer. The Spartans would continue to play hard, but could not tie the score.

Case will jump back into UAA play against New York University at Case Field on October 8 at 11:00 a.m.
