CLEVELAND, OH (September 11, 2004) - The Case women's soccer team achieved their first win of the season today with a 1-0 victory over Defiance College. In the 11th minute of action, junior midfielder Cara Stepanczuk (Munster, IN) scored the would be game-winning goal for the Spartans. The defense then was solid and goalkeepers Jean Enge-Janes (1st half) and Lauren Gaeta (2nd half) were perfect in goal for Case, making two saves each in earning the shutout win. This game also marked the first time this season that the Spartans did not need overtime to finish a game. Case's previous three games all went to overtime. The women's soccer team next travels to Mount Union College in Alliance, OH for a 7:00 pm game, Tuesday, September 14th. Box Score
