SPARTAN VOLLEYBALL —2007

CLEVELAND, OH (October 14th, 2007) - The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team lost 3-0 (30-19, 30-27, 30-24) to Brandeis University in their final match of the Second 2007 University Athletic Association Round Robin Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio.

Case falls to 12-14 (3-4 UAA) while the Judges rise to 18-6 (4-3).

Sophomore middle blocker S.K. Piper (Portage, MI) and freshman outside hitter’s Beth Karpinski (Avon Lake, OH) and Anne Murphy (Dayton, OH-pictured) combined for 23 kills against Brandeis.

Case has three victories in UAA conference play in 2007 compared to just one converence victory in 2006, further illustrating just how far this team has come.

“Were starting to believe we can compete at a higher level,” said Spartan Head Coach Karen Farrell. “We know if we play our best than we can win matches against very talented programs.”

Case Western travels to Lake Erie College for a non-conference showdown this Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
