CLEVELAND, OH (October 4, 2007) -
The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team snapped a two-match losing streak tonight with a 3-1 home victory over Otterbein College.
The Spartans [9-11] dominated the first two matches [30-20, 30-25], dropped game three [28-30], then battled back from a late deficit [30-28] in the fourth game to hand Otterbein its 19th loss of the season.
Case Western Reserve junior outside hitter Elise Snell (Valparaiso, IN-pictured) had a nice game match, recodring 11 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore libero Andrea Lamont (Columbia, MD) led the team in digs with 22 and junior setter Julie Schaefer (Independence, OH) had a team-high 22 assists.
Spartan middle blocker Julianna Burrows (Grosse Pointe Farms, MI) was honored in a pregame ceremony as part of senior night.
The Spartans travel to Allegheny College Saturday for a tri-match. They face Ohio Wesleyan University at 4:00 p.m. and Allegheny at 6:00 p.m.
