CARNEGIE MELLON 3 , CASE 2...
CLEVELAND, OH (September 30, 2007) - Case Western Reserve University's volleyball team was defeated by Carnegie Mellon University 3-2 (30-24, 30-17, 26-30, 15-30, 15-8) in the final match of the University Athletic Association’s Round Robin Tournament in New York City, New York.
The Spartans fall to 8-11 (1-2) as the Tartans improve to 9-8 (2-1). 
Case battled back from a two game deficit to tie the Tartans, but Carnegie Mellon was able to overcome the Spartans potent attack.
Leading the charge for Case was sophomore middle blocker S.K. Piper (Portage, MI) with fourteen kills, one solo block and seven block assists. Freshman outside hitter Beth Karpinski (Avon Lake, OH-pictured) nailed her second double-double of the tournament with fourteen kills and twenty-six digs.
Case hosts Otterbein College this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Horsburgh Gym at the Veale Center.
