CASE 3, DAEMON 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (September 8, 2007) -
The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team defeated Daemon College 3-1 (31-29, 30-25, 19-30, 30-26) this afternoon for their first victory at the 10th annual Marcia French Memorial Tournament hosted by Baldwin Wallace College.
With the victory the Spartan’s overall record rises to 2-3 as Daemon College falls to 2-8 on the season.
Leading the attack for the Spartans was junior setter Julie Schaefer (Independence, OH - pictured) who had 43 assists and sophomore middle hitter S.K. Piper (Portage, MI) with 19 kills.
The Spartans will face Saint Vincent College in the second match of the tournament tonight at 9 p.m.
