CLEVELAND, OH (October 28, 2006) -
Case Western Reserve University freshman outside hitter S.K. Piper (Portage, MI) and sophomore middle hitter Colleen Martin (Rocky River, OH) combined for 44 kills (Piper 24, Martin 20) as the Spartans topped host Oberlin College (Tri-Match) 3-1 (30-25, 27-30, 33-31, 30-25).
Case (12-21) sophomore Julie Schaefer-pictured (Independence, OH) recorded a team high 43 assists and had 19 digs against Oberlin. Spartan freshman libero Andrea Lamont (Columbia, MD) and freshman defensive specialist Andrea Wojtowicz (Litchfield, OH) added 23 digs and 19 digs, respectively.
The Spartans travel to Carnegie Mellon University this weekend (Nov. 3-4) for the 2006 University Athletic Association Championship.
