#17 EMORY 3, CASE 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (October 15, 2006) -
The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team (10-17, 1-5 UAA) was able to sneak one game from the number 17th ranked team in the country (Division III), Emory University, but fell in the end 3-1 (30-21, 30-21, 30-32, 30-24) to the Eagles in day two of the University Athletic Association Round Robin #2 at the University of Chicago.
Spartan sophomore setter Julie Schaefer (Independence, OH-pictured) had a team high 33 assists and added 15 digs in the match. Case freshman outside hitter S.K. Piper (Portage, MI) contributed 14 kills. The Spartans will face Brandeis University in their fourth and final match.
